Amsterdam Canal House

The canal houses are typical buildings of the city of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Historically, the basement of these houses was used to store goods from maritime transport. The very slim and elongated aspect of the buildings makes this architecture so unique. The street front facade of the buildings is decorated with a gable which is usually equipped with a crane.
