Timber-Framed House

Also called ‘‘Fachwerkhaus’’ in german, Timber Framing is a construction technique that uses heavy timbers as the main structure of the house, in which the horizontal bracing is carried out by means of struts. Already known in the Neolithic Age, this architectural system has been widely popularized especially in Germany, but also in France, Great Britain, and Japan.
